Changing Your Macintosh TCP/IP Settings for KWOM

Open the 'TCP/IP' Control Panel:
  • Click on the Apple icon at the top left of the Desktop screen
  • Scroll down to 'Control Panels'
  • Select 'TCP/IP' from the list
Select 'TCP/IP' by highlighting it with the mouse, and releasing the mouse button.  (Note: Some users may not have to hold down the mouse button to keep the drop-down menus open; in this case, make selections by clicking with the mouse while the desired option is highlighted).

The TCP/IP Control Panel is highlighted in the example to the right.

Changing the 'TCP/IP' settings is very simple.
  • Connect via: has PPP selected. If it is not, click on the arrows to the right of the box and select "PPP".
  • Configure: hasUsing PPP Serverselected. If not, click on the arrows to the right of the box and select "Using PPP Server".
  • Replace the existing two sets of numbers in the 'Name Server Addr.' with the KWOM's new DNS numbers: 208.211.166.2 and 199.177.36.2

The first example on the right shows the TCP/IP window with the old information - the bottom example shows the new configuration.

Congratulations!  You are now set up to use KWOM's new Internet Access services.  Any windows still left open can be closed.  Click 'Save' if asked whether or not you wish to save the changes to your settings.  You should now be able to connect to KWOM.
